A solid French white oak beam paired on its own or as a set of two in coffee table form.

The Eik Bench is built from solid French white oak, with a thick top resting on block-like legs set wide at each end. The form is reduced and deliberate, allowing proportion and material to carry the piece. Natural cracks, knots, and grain shifts are left intact, giving the bench a sense of weight and use from the outset. Style with two for a dynamic coffee table design.

Please note, knots and cracks are left intentionally unfilled and may expand depending on your environment as the thick wood finds its final resting place. If these characteristics are of concern, we do not recommend this piece.

When considering this piece, think of the French white oak as passionate, expressive, reactive to its environment, and  occasionally unpredictable. If you’d rather not weather the drama, our the white oak pieces from our Ojai Collection offer a calmer, more stable partnership.

Finish: French Oak

The solid French white oak is sealed with a natural oil that allows the wood to breathe and respond to its environment. Variations in humidity may result in natural movement, including small cracks or shifts in the grain. These changes are expected and reflect the living character of solid wood, contributing to the piece’s evolving surface over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dust

  • Regularly dust your table with a soft dry cloth to prevent dust buildup, which can scratch the wood over time.

Spills

  • Wipe up spills with a damp cloth to prevent stains, and promptly dry the surface to the best of your ability. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged exposure to moisture.

Use Coasters and Placemats

  • The French oak finish is natural and may develop watermarks. Protect your table from moisture, heat damage, and scratches by using coasters and placemats under glasses, plates, and hot dishes.

Maintain the Finish

  • We recommend using Odie's Oil, a natural wax-like substance, once a year to maintain the look of the wood tables. It's easy to apply, non-toxic, and provides an additional layer of protection. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and buff with a soft cloth for best results.

Solid wood finished with oil will naturally evolve over time. To refresh and protect the surface, we recommend reapplying Odie’s Oil about once a year, or as needed depending on wear.

Yes. Assembly is required; however, it is included with our white glove delivery service, which is standard for all of our products.

Our solid wood furniture is crafted from natural materials and may exhibit variation in grain, color, and texture. These characteristics are inherent to real wood and are not considered defects.

Because solid wood responds to its environment, it may expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity. This natural movement can result in slight gaps, cracks, warping, or subtle variations in the finish over time. These occurrences are expected and part of the material’s character.

Thicker solid wood components, particularly pieces 2 inches or more in thickness, may require time to acclimate to the humidity of their new environment. If you prefer a more uniform and dimensionally stable surface, we recommend selecting pieces made with wood veneer.

We take great care in constructing each piece for longevity and durability; however, natural wood may require periodic maintenance to preserve its appearance.

Please note that the wood used in each product may vary slightly from samples or photography due to the inherent qualities of the material. Accordingly, no representation or guarantee is made regarding the exact color, luster, or appearance of finishes.

We recommend avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading, discoloration, and cause the solid wood to dry out.

This piece is proudly manufactured in Vietnam.
