Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth to absorb excess liquid. Avoid rubbing to prevent setting the stain into the fabric. Spot clean with a damp cloth or sponge using mild detergent and lukewarm water. Gently dab the stained area from the outside towards the center. Continue blotting until the stain is lifted. Rinse the cloth or sponge with clean water and blot again to remove soap residue. Avoid over-saturating the fabric, then air dry. For ongoing maintenance, regularly vacuum or brush the fabric to remove dust and debris and keep it looking its best.

Our boucle fabric is made from 100% solution dyed acrylic fibers. This means that it does not absorb liquids or spills in the same way that natural fibers do. While we always opt for natural materials for our furniture, we felt that this was the best decision for kitchen/dining chair upholstery. Reupholstering the Charlie Dining Chair is definitely possible and many clients have successfully reupholstered their Charlie Chairs and have been pleased with the results. The seat cushion is very easy to reupholster, as it is secured with four simple screws. It’s important to note that the backrest of the chair has wood fillings hiding the screws. To reupholster the backrest, these fillings would need to be carefully drilled out and then filled again after reupholstery. For orders that are 10 chairs or less, we recommend the seats be re-upholstered by your local upholstery team if desired.

We recommend avoiding direct exposure to sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading and discoloration. As most of our pieces use solid wood, prolonged exposure can cause the wood to dry out.

While both the chairs and the table feature a natural oil finish, our carpentry team selects wood closer to the core of the tree for the chairs. This wood is denser and more durable, making it better suited for seating. The natural oil finish used on the chairs may result in a slightly different appearance compared to the table, as it does not penetrate the denser wood as deeply. The dining tables receive an extra layer of protective coating to guard against food and liquid spills, which can contribute to variations in color and texture. Our goal is to maintain the natural beauty of the wood without adding gloss or shine through chemical treatments.
